All Dogs can have a special place in your heart!

This is our Dog Beau. We had to have him put to sleep last year. He was the best dog ever! From the time he was a young pup he always protected us.

Our youngest son was 2 years old when we got him and he was 3 months old. As he grew with him, he was his protector. He had a best friend that was our neighbors dog, it was a Chow. The two dogs really loved each other and were always there for each other but if that Chow came near any of us, especially Jesse (our youngest son) Beau would jump him and let him know not to come near us. I guess he was saying that we were his.

One time I had him on a leash in the front yard and a drunk man came through our yard asking us a question and Beau did not like that at all! He was growling and trying to get to him and Beau never growled at anybody, unless he felt that they were a threat to us. He would lay by the door of our house, where his bed was, and people that we knew would come and go and never knock, because he could sense that they were not a threat, but a neighbor of ours, a man, that I am not comfortable around, came in one day without knocking and Beau went after him and I had to make the man go back out! I was glad because I did not want him in my house while by myself!

Our whole family was in our backyard another time and we were sledding down the hill that had deep dropped off into a creek and Jesse jumped on the sled without us knowing and was headed for that drop off and we saw him and was yelling and did not know what to do! Ole Beau ran down to the drop off and stood sideways in front of it so that Jesse would hit him instead of falling in the creek. That was amazing! Jesse, however slowed down enough that he stopped before hitting Beau, Thank God!

We could let Beau out to go potty and he would run around the whole block so he could mark all the mailboxes and play with all the other dogs in the neighborhood and then he would come right back home within a few minutes. The whole neighborhood loved him but they could not understand why he got along great with the other dogs when he would do that but when we would put him on a leash and walk him with us, he would not get along with them then. We had to explain to them that he did not like other dogs coming near us. He was a very protective and dominant dog.

I don’t like to talk about the time that he died because it was very sad! But he was with us 13 years and I will never forget him! Soon after he passed, we got 2 Golden Retriever Puppies, Jack and Jill, and they are great dogs! Hopefully they will grow to be the like him!

I Love and Miss You Very Much Beau! Always in our hearts!
